Want to Know a Secret? By: Freida McFadden

A re-release of a McFadden thriller, ready for you to read like it’s 2026.

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Everyone has secrets.

YouTube baking sensation April Masterson knows the secret to the perfect gooey brownies. Or how to make key lime squares that will melt in your mouth. But if you keep watching her offline, you may find out some other secrets about April. Secrets she’d rather you didn’t know.

I have a theory that you read one Frida book and you are blown away. You want more and more. It’s chasing that high of a really good thriller.

Then you read another and it’s eh and you read another and it’s a eh. You start finding the pattern.

The story was no different. The first book I read like this was Gone Girl. You read one part of the book and find out it’s all a lie then you read the second part of the book and get the actual story. Lying main characters are always the worst.

I do think Frida tried to instead of making it a lie, making it a delusional, unwell, main character.

I’m a little confused why publishers republish? This was from 2021, but is coming out like a new release. I guess it doesn’t matter because I haven’t read it anyways, but maybe knowing it’s so old, I can see that it’s not up to her normal ‘thrilling’ standards.
