If it doesn’t make sense, I can’t make sense of it.

Internationally bestselling author Amy Meyerson takes readers on a harrowing journey where two mothers—one of a woman who drowned and the other of a toddler who might know what happened to her—are the only ones searching for the truth. (Goodreads Blurb)
Let’s just start with I am in the minority for how I feel about this book. So if you are reading my review because your friend recommended you this story, maybe pass me on by.
This is pretty highly rated on Goodreads. I will say a lot of the reviews that are high. I think people are going way too deep and thought-provoking with this book that I felt didn’t have any depth. This to me is just a thriller. It is not a story diving into the depth of memory loss and loving family and what a mother would do.
Anyways ………..
For me, the lower rating comes from. I just didn’t like any of the characters. I found most of the characters pretty whiny. I hated all of their internal thoughts. I think it was clever to add some of this lack of communication to add more attention to the story, but for me, the lack of communication came off as unbelievable.
What really pushed me over the edge of not really liking this book was Tessa’s entire episode at the end of the book. Her internal thoughts were so far off base they made no sense to me. I don’t know how other characters accepted her stupid thoughts. I found her very overdramatic and it was a huge turn off.
The entire story had too many sprinklings of unrealistic drama that made me hate the characters. Therefore, I would not recommend this to my reader friends. I would also remind you, maybe don’t listen to me and live your life.
