Absolutely disliked this book.
That’s really all you have to know. Yet, to review books one must require a little bit more context so here it goes.
The biggest ick for me with this book was Fiona, the main character. She was selfish, rude, insensitive, narcissistic, and I never felt bad for her or anything that happened to her because I found her so disgusting on how she treated everyone else. *Gasps for air*
That’s a little harsh, but the author wanted us to like her. It was frustrating.
I personally didn’t like the pan angle. I think if you were going to go that way, maybe don’t have a typical man and woman, very heterosexual romance. With very heterosexual sex (so much sex, too much sex, bleh!). Then he changed his hair? Don’t get me into the psychology of that.
The romance even lacked depth for me.
You can’t talk about this book without mentioning … I don’t like spicy scenes to begin with, and there were way too many of them in this book. And they lasted way too long. For way too many pages. With way too many details.
It’s surprising because I did like the previous story An Academic Affair. So not really sure how they’re connected other than the same character because it doesn’t feel like the same character vibes.
Overall, I would not recommend this book. I’d also warn people it might ruin the previous book for you.
