The date finished is really the date I gave up. Life is too short to force yourself to read a book that doesn’t deserve it.
I was bored in the beginning, stayed bored in the middle and as I neared the end the boring was getting so bad that I had to stop.
The book wasn’t that bad in the beginning when the parents were alive. Reading about the struggle of the boy not knowing who was hiding in the house, what was going on with his mom and then I enjoyed the interaction when he finally finds her in the upstairs. Once the parents leave (although I felt that was necessary) the book dragged on for so long with the most painful writing style that I just couldn’t go forward. I normally always finish my books I start, even if I hate them. This one though, I just couldn’t.
I did give it two stars because I haven’t read (or watched a movie) with this type of storyline. I enjoyed the conflict… I just don’t think it was executed well.
