A short story that you wouldn’t want to miss out on. It’s like a cozy 1-episode TV show.

For a father and daughter, it’s a journey through the four seasons in a poignant short story about memories and everlasting love by #1 New York Times bestselling author Lisa Wingate. (Goodreads blurb)
I always like to start reviews on short stories with, short stories are really hard to do well.
So unless this is a complete flop, you’ve already earned a couple stars in my head. (I remember someone just took a snippet up their larger novel and cut it down into a short story and that was so cheating.)
I like the way this book is organized by seasons. I like the way this book is between the father and daughter and whole premises of the book. Overall, the author did a great job of setting up a beginning and an ending.
I do agree with other reviewers that have mentioned the very abrupt ending being a let down. The book has a cute ending, but it doesn’t have any closure. This whole story is about what the father is going through and to leave the readers not knowing what was the whole point of spending these seasons together is a little frustrating. I mean, I think we all know what the father’s fate holds… but how is the daughter doing?
An epilogue remembering on these wonderful moments she had with the father would have been wonderful. A quick summary. It only would have needed to be a couple paragraphs.
