I could sit down and discuss this book for hours. Let me know what you thought of it, my brain is reeling.

First of all, I don’t get the title. They did try to explain it in a little paragraph, but to me it’s an eye catching, marketing, title for a simple book.
But! What do we say? Don’t judge a book by its cover. Or in this case the title. Or maybe you should judge this book by the title because the way the book is titled, is the way the book was written… hmmm.
I could probably go lower with my rating, but I put so much time into reading it and I did actually eat up this pretty long story so plus one for Liz.
I found the overall vibe of the story compelling. I found the characters complicated but interesting. I enjoyed the writing immensely. I simply enjoyed myself while reading this book. I think I enjoyed it even more that I read the physical copy. Crazy how things work like that huh?
Yet, there were some things that bothered me (of course). After almost 500 pages, I don’t feel satisfied with the ending. I don’t feel satisfied with the reveal. We had two great mysteries we were trying to solve as readers and I’m content, but not satisfied, with both endings to the mysteries.
My other big point of criticism, is the pseudo fast paced style that was presented. The multiple timelines (like A LOT of timelines), the switching perspectives for a wide range of characters, the short chapters, and the way the book was presented to you gives the illusion that you are flying through the storyline. Yet, it dragged out. What were we learning from each perspective? What were we learning from each timeline change? There’s a huge slug and it dragged down the story. There was no justification for the story to be that long.
Combining fluffed page count, and a seriously lacking ending – it made the overall feel a bit “eh”.
I’ll stick with my four stars though because like I said, I ate this up. I couldn’t get enough of it. And even though at the end, I’m left with some muted feelings. I did feel I overall enjoyed myself on the ride.
