The House by the Cliffs By: Kat Lakin

Exploring an island and looking for rest, Nicholas stumbles across a strange house. It should be empty, but the keeper, The Magus, is there. Mysterious instructions, a promising rest provides Nicholas with far more than he was expecting.

A wonderful quick story/script based in a dream-like world. I tend to want to stay away from dream stories as there are too many ways for the author to be deceiving with the reader.

This script played into a dream world, a not dream world, multiple dimensions? I could see how this would do well adapted into something one could watch. The scenery read beautifully, eerily and vast. I could easily picture the house, the rooms, the doors…

I was confused by the character Ilya. What role did she play in the story? What relationship does she have with Nicholas or The Magus? Why did she lie in the beginning? Instead of having Ilya showing the house, wish Nicholas just stumbled across it or lost and looking for reprieve.

Overall a great concept I’d read or watch more of to see what else The Magus is getting up to.

*** Thank you to Alexander Andreou for providing a copy of the script in exchange for an honest review.
