There is something about this book .. I can’t quite put into words … but whatever it is, it’s great.
I loved this book. I loved how long it was, I love the journey I went on, I loved how I slowly found out about each characters, I loved how I bounded around in time and in different characters heads.
The writing was magnificent. Just enough ‘fluff’ where I could see what the author wanted me to see, but not enough that I’m trying to skim through a paragraph to get back to the story.
This is a big book … but as I started nearing the end, like 70% done, I picked up another book because I didn’t want The Forgotten Garden to end. Ha! The story felt so magical that I started only wanting to read it if the sun was at the perfect spot in the sky, if I had the perfect chair and was all cozied up to ‘set the mood’ for the book. I just love it when authors can create a world for the reader that just takes over their life/brain. And that’s what this book did for me. And for that, THANK YOU KATE!
Normally I read through other people’s reviews so I can agree or disagree with people. This time I’m not going to let any nay-sayers spoil this beautiful book for me. So I’ll leave you with, it’s beautiful. It’s wonderful. Please give it a chance and read it.
