Amor Towles is in the running for my new favorite author.

I just happened to pick up two of Towles’ books. I read them in the wrong order – but either way, I have fallen in love. I fell in love with his writing style. The characters in his books. The perfect way he travels back in time and takes his readers with him, without exhausting them. I could gush on and on.

The characters in this book are magical. I felt like I was in chilly New York. I felt the heart break and I felt the adventure.

The book feels like it skips around? It sometimes confused me? Really I felt like that was just the character. As Katey skipped around life and as her life took these dramatic turns, so did the readers. I loved the way we skipped all the boring in between and got right to the point. Right to the ‘good stuff’.
