Does M.T. Edvardsson have multiple personalities?
I really enjoyed this book!
PROS: My favorite part of this book was the multiple view points. The book is broken into 3 parts. From the dad’s point of view, the daughter’s and then the mother. It literally felt like each character was writing their section of the book.
The dad’s was from his point of view.. He is a .. curious.. individual and has his own version of how things happen. Then the daughter would come in and say what really happened (or is she wrong and his version is right?).
The end is the mother (previously) a lawyer giving the big reveal by describing the basic facts as the trial starts and ends.
CONS: Reading other reviewers I see how they felt it could be repetitive. The author does repeat the same story or situation from the dad’s POV and then the daughter’s POV (and sometimes the mother’s POV). The only thing that bothered me about the repetitive story telling was when the story didn’t matter. When the memory of a situation really didn’t play into the actual story, I didn’t care and it is unnecessary. When the retelling of the story DID matter, I believe the author was just trying to lead us down the wrong path on purpose or to help build doubt with one character or another.
Overall, I really enjoy this book. It was good to the very last sentence. I loved it.
TIP: Don’t read ahead to the last sentence of the book.
