THE WIVES BY: TARRYN FISHER

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Four stars, but know that everyone else rating it lower are not wrong.

I enjoyed this book. Was it the best ‘thriller’ ever? Heck no. I still am giving it four stars because I really did enjoy it. Note: generalizing review to avoid spoilers.

The first 50% of this book is awesome. You are on the edge of your seat for it. And then the author starts her descent into the reveal, starts giving you little clues, building you up for the big finale. This is when the book starts getting ridiculous. I mean the biggest, most ridiculous clue that told me this book was going off the rails is when the author reveals the main character’s name. COME ON.

It’s a good thriller, but as other reviewer’s said… it wasn’t layered correctly. Meaning your big shock value in thriller is when you finally bring together all the clues you’ve previously read and that start making sense. Too much was purposely left out of the first half of the book to give a shock value. Unfortunately the only real shock value was that it came completely out of left field.

Overall, I’m still giving it four stars. The first fifty percent was very well done and although ridiculous, I still really enjoyed reading this.
