This book was cheesy, but in an artsy way. Does that make sense? The Sun Rose in Paris is first and foremost a love story. I won’t say with who because I loved finding that out myself while reading. It is such a beautiful love story surrounded in the world of art and set back in the 1930’s where texting and snapchat didn’t exist.
It really was beautiful. It read in my head like a movie I’d love to watch over and over. Although the art in the movie might not live up to the art in my head – so maybe it’s better it stays a book. (ha)
I really enjoyed this book and all the characters within. I was surprised when it had a little drama inserted into the plot. It really picked up the slow rowing that I was enjoying. The sex scene was a bit much for me – felt like it came out of no where and didn’t really fit in the elegant writing of the rest of the book. I’m sure some will love that it was added though. (ha)
Overall, I’m not sure I’ll continue on my journey with Jack (this is the beginning of a series) but I loved this little glimpse into his fictional life.
