THE HOBBIT, OR THERE AND BACK AGAIN BY: J.R.R. TOLKIEN

Rating: 5 out of 5.

What can you even say about a classic like this?

This is my third time around reading this… Surprised I didn’t previously leave a review. I ran out of books to read, so had to browse my shelf to look for a good reread to pass the time.

DANG – it did not disappoint. We actually tried watching the movie again recently and turned it off because it was so bad compared to the Lord of the Rings movies and now it reminds me how bad it is compared to the book. If you ever need someone to compare book vs movie and what is better – there is no better example than this one.

The special sprinkles I forgot about are the little comments from Tolkien. For example, ‘… and this was how golf was invented’. It’s always when you least expect it you get a little easter egg of Tolkien humor. Love it!
