Beatriz Williams makes me look into a vacation at the beach in all her books. 

This is my third Beatriz Williams book and I’ve always felt good after finishing them. You can tell she takes a lot of time to build the world you are diving into as realistic as possible. (Which I appreciate.)

A lot of other reviewers mentioned the way the story jumped around. I *almost* didn’t pick up this book because of that comment. If I would have listened to other reviewers I would have missed out on a wonderful story and intriguing characters. It was truly a great ride and wonderful diving into another book from an author I’m really starting to put on my radar for her next releases. 

I will also say – the other reviewers are not wrong. 
This took me awhile to chew through. I was constantly flipping back pages to see where I left out. The time jumps, story line jumps, character jumps were a lot to take in. You really have to get your head in the right space before diving in to a new chapter. 

Secondly, another comment other reviewers make that I will echo here is, the ending WAS rushed. I fell in love with these characters. I sat through all these pages hoping and praying for a happy ending or at least impatiently (in a positive sense) waiting for the ending. I was so excited to see where my beloved characters would end up. 
And in the end … I was let down. Not by the ending … (no spoilers here) but the way the ending was executed. I could have spent another 100 pages (kinda dramatic) reading about how we were leaving these characters. There was so much emotional and detail throughout the book and then it was like, THE END.

Overall, I’m not mad I picked up ‘The Golden Hour’. I’m excited what this author will bring us next… will she stray from the beaches that she describes so well I can touch the sand? We’ll see. ​
