THE ALICE NETWORK BY: KATE QUINN

Rating: 5 out of 5.

DANG – What a good one …
This was a hands down excellent book. I enjoyed the wide variety of characters, the alternating stories and how it all tied up in a nice bow in the end. (I hate it when two sets of timelines never actually tie together.)

The writing got a little sluggish in parts of the book – but it didn’t bother me enough to not be a solid 5 stars.

Reading through other reviews, what a mix bag! I agree with a few reviewers that one of the main characters, Charlie, is a little brat. I think that adds to the story though. It didn’t bother me at all.

This isn’t the best writing I’ve ever read. I also agree with a few reviewers that some ‘whoops’ writing that kinda erk you.

I have been chugging through the WW2 books lately, so I wasn’t really looking forward to reading another… They are all kind of blurring into one and are not feeling original anymore. This book is different though. I really liked that it focused on WW1 more and the story line felt more original than not.

Overall though, I ABSOLUETLY loved learning about Louise. I was baffled reading the author’s note and finding out what was fiction and what was real. I wish the story was more about Louise than all the other characters, but I still think this was a very well done book and I would recommend this book.
