REMINDERS OF HIM BY COLLEEN HOOVER

,

Rating: 5 out of 5.

I’d like to start off by saying, I am not a Hoover super fan. I know they exist out there… but that’s not me.
I’d like to finish by saying, holy cow I think I am becoming a Hoover super fan.
My favorite aspect about the handful of Hoover’s books I’ve read is the subject she chooses to write about. Sure, she’s an okay to great writer. They’re a few ‘annoying’ things Hoover does that stops me from being a true super fan… but dang. Every. Single. Book. Gets. Me.

Her stories seem to walk the line of some sort of uncomfortable moral that the characters have to work through. The grey area. The characters are asked to deal with emotions and the readers wait to see if they make the ‘right’ decision.
I felt conflicted. I was stressed out. And yes, I cried. I might have sobbed in the end there. Hoover did an excellent job making me care a lot about these characters. The relationships felt realistic. The people felt real. I could picture the town, the bar and the little grocery store in my head easily.
I am absolutely amazed how the author was able to create a romantic thriller. The way she balances romance and suspense is an art.
Absolutely would recommend and an easy 5 stars from me.
