THE HOUSEMAID BY FREIDA MCFADDEN

This was an interesting one for me. I didn’t hate it. It had all the pieces of a great puzzle, more importantly, all the pieces of a great thriller. There were twists, surprises and it came together in a pretty little bow at the end. 
    This is a solid 3.5 to 4 star book. I believe most seasoned readers would agree. I dont think most reviewers have much negative things to say about the book other than it’s mindless. 

Sure, addictive, easy to read, kept me on the edge of my seat. Yet, there was an emotional connection to the entire story (not just a specific character) that was lacking. The perfect story was generated but the human behind the story telling was not able to pull in readers to really make them FEEL something. 
     I’d characterize this as an excellent ‘plane book’. A book you pick up, read in one sitting on a plane. You are entertained.. but the story isn’t going to stick with you. I will come to Freida again to load up my kindle before trips, adding her to some
