I’m struggling between 3 stars and 4 stars for this story…. we’ll see what you decide when you get to the end of the review. This is a well written story. What I really enjoyed about it, is how well it was written from the author’s phone (the author mentions having to write most of the story on her phone as she took care of her kid – I found that extra entertaining). On the other hand, when the author’s note is what puts the icing on the cake… maybe that says a lot about the actual story?
The issue with this story is predictability. Reading the title tells you the entire story. It’s not really exciting when you picking up a book that you know what is going to happen. There aren’t a lot of twists and turns… and the twists and turns that do exist the reader knows what’s going to happen.
Why I wouldn’t pass on a book that the reader knows every page…. is that the book is very well written. Good character building, good time jumping, good, really, everything. Very well structured. Although I knew what was going to happen, I never felt annoyed picking up the book to continue reading.
Overall, I’m stuck… I would recommend this book… just know you aren’t going to be at the edge of your seat for it.
