SLAUGHTERHOUSE-FIVE BY KURT VONNEGUT JR.

,

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I’ll admit, when I finished this book it was a solid 3 stars for me. I didn’t understand what was ‘so great’ about this VERY famous book. After letting it marinate in my brain for awhile… I realized it WAS marinating. It was sticking with me. That alone, says something.
This was a very intriguing way of Vonnegut to work through his own experiences. It’s special. I had a little whiplash, a little disgust but then I fell for Billy. Side note, I love Trout … can we get more Trout? Can we get some of Trout’s books to read? (I dont think I’m the first person who has asked this.)
Overall, it’s a strange book. Yet, when you put in the context of the time period it was written in and experiences the author was dealing with – it’s a beautiful little piece of art.
