I will admit, it was tough going from a beautifully written book to this slightly crude, spring break vibe thriller. Yet, once I started I couldn’t stop.
This is great beach read, although you might be looking over your shoulder while ‘on’ a beach. Easy reading, quick and with enough twists and turns that make you want to keep turning the page.
This is a good kind of messy. I enjoyed the thrill and had a hard time putting down the book. It felt loud, like a party that got out of hand. Or a hangover that won’t end.
Yet, in the end, the good messy turned into a bad messy. The ending felt ridiculous, a shock factor that didn’t make any sense. There were holes in the stories, questions I never got answered. There isn’t that much depth to this story to go into too much detail about it… maybe that is also a problem here.
Also – why does everyone compare this to Lost? Lost is completely different premise … ANWAYS. I’m not sure where to rate this. I’m leaning 3.5 rounding up to 4. I can’t go lower due to devouring this book in one sitting. You have to be doing something right to make someone do that!
P.S. I hate prologues.
