This is admittedly my first audio book! Yay!
I’m curious how much my review is because I listened to this book rather than read it. I guess we’ll never really know as I probably will never read this book but it is something that I am curious about as I dive more and more into audio books.
OKAY – you didn’t come here for my thoughts on audio books. What about ‘Girl, Alone’. For me, this was an ‘airplane book’. If this is your first experience with my reviews these are books I feel that you can read while on an airplane. You could finish this book on an airplane. It’s quick, easy to read indwell entertain you enough to feel entertained but not good enough that you’d want to read it in a more ideal setting.
It’s a ‘good enough’ FBI thriller that felt equal parts entertaining and unrealistic. I found myself rolling my eyes at some of the conclusions the women came up with or the leaps this rookie agent stumbled upon.
Very interesting idea from the author as it allowed the author to explore/show the audience a lot of different serial killers, which let’s be real – it’s what we are all here for.
In regards to the actual audio book, I did notice some comments from people saying that they didn’t like the person speaking in the audio book. I didn’t really have any thoughts on it until I started listening to A DIFFERENT ONE, where that speaker is trying to do different voices and it’s annoying the heck out of me. (ha) So I would give THIS reader, two thumbs up on how they read the book.
So overall, this is a 3.5/4 star book for me that I would recommend to someone who was heading on a plane and just wanted to zone out for a bit.
