For me, this book didn’t do it for me. Honestly when I picked this book up to read I had no idea there was such a strong ‘feminism’ angle. I mean, the men are bad and women are badass thoughts are literally jammed down the reader’s throats. It’s aggressive and off putting.
Sadly, that’s my lasting thought with this book. There were so many wonderful pieces of it, yet, the feminism jargon was so exhausting I’m left with nothing else.
I will say the fantasy aspect of this story was wonderful. If we could delete all the ‘yada yada’ the story as a whole could have been excellent.
Speaking of deleting things, this book is way too long at 450+ pages. We didn’t need all those pages to tell this story.
Overall, I got through it because I wanted to. The twist was ‘meh’ but the characters were compelling which kept me coming back for it. I wouldn’t recommend this story.
