What is it about Backman that drives me crazy? It’s buts because  ‘A Man Called Ove’ I was so taken with I named my Jeep after Ove. 
I laughed and cried and just really wanted this book to end. Not sure how I can feel all these things at once – yet, here we are. 

Other reviewers have said it as well, I don’t like the story within the story. It feels like the main character (whether Elsa or whoever) is constantly distracted. We have a very simple timeline and then we have to go on a long winded tangent constantly. The parts of the story where Backman just tells the story, was great! I don’t understand the riddles, but I’ve read enough Backman books to know this is just his style of writing and ‘it is what it is’. 
I don’t think I’ll pick up anther Backman book – but I do not want to deter anyone from reading these books as well because they are really heart clenching. He does know how to create characters that can really pull on your heart strings.
