I love Tana French.
I love the way she writes and makes the story flow.
The story was excellent. It pulled on all the right heart strings and made me keep wanting more, keep guessing and trying to understand the past.
The only issue I had with the book was the ending. (SPOILER) I didnt like being left on a cliff hanger. I didnt like guessing. I spent the whole book guessing who did it, what would happen next… The ending was supposed to be my resolution, my ah-ha moment. Instead French let the reader chose the ending. Whatever was best for them. This didnt work for me, you can’t do that in a thriller. I kept turning the last page expecting more, wanting more, freaking out for more freaking words.
So enjoy the writing, enjoy the story line, enjoy the overall flow of the book. But don’t expect much at the ending. This is the only reason for my iffy stars.
XOXO
