BILLIE SOMEDAY: THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME BY: ANDY GRAHAM

Rating: 3 out of 5.

This was a cute book. I’m still unsure of the intended audience. I was nervous it would be graphic or adult fantasy, but then it wasn’t. It also wasn’t ‘cute’. Very interesting road the author decided to take with the story.
I enjoyed the way all the animals spoke. The language they used. The way they spoke to one another. At first I was confused that only the goats could talk to one another, but enjoyed that everyone (every animal) could have nice conversations with each other. I don’t understand the ending and the way the author decided to tidy up Billie’s goal. It was kind of a let down.

I did finish the book, so obviously thought it was good enough to spend my time reading… yet there is just something off about it. I’m not sure I have figured out the point of the book.
There is nothing that really ‘sticks out‘ – maybe that is the ‘issue’. We didn’t have a big climatic scene where the reader goes, WOW. Nothing cutesy. No hard lessons to learn. Even some of the goat terms, like wether, I wish were explained so I could at least learn something more about goats.
Overall, I’m left with ‘meh’ and am sorry to say, I would not recommend.
