There are moments when you should know what you were getting yourself into and this was one of them. I should have known this was going to be an overdone 90s teen angst novel.. but I wasn’t ready for how over the top it would be.
     If that wasn’t enough..  The title, the cover don’t match with what I would expect after reading. (I know, I know.. don’t judge a book by its cover.) Even the synopsis feels a bit like I’ve been catfished. 

 The drug use was too much and too casual. The sex was odd. These two categories felt forced into the story … like the author felt it was necessary to ensure the book had the appropriate amount of teen angst. Then add on all these other forceful angles and the plot was bloated. Way too much going on in the story that even the main character started feeling overwhelmed and unsure what she was doing back in her home town.
    Overall – rough, I’ve read worse, I appreciate what the author was trying to do… but the story needs more focus.
